Professor Xing is currently serving as the President at the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI),  a Professor of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. He is also the pioneering Founder and Chief Scientist of Petuum Inc., a 2018 World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer for developing a standardized AI platform and operating system dedicated to industrial applications. Professor Xing has been at the forefront of AI and machine learning research in the past 20 years and his extensive work focuses on the creation of machine learning and statistical methodologies, as well as large-scale computational systems that enable automated learning, reasoning, and decision-making in artificial, biological, and social systems.

 

With a wealth of experience in academia as an active and world-leading scientist and as an entrepreneur and administrator, Professor Xing serves as an ambassador from the innovation frontier to educate and train those in the emerging field of artificial intelligence and its application in the real world.
